One dead as overpass collapses in brazil

An overpass collapsed in the Brazilian World Cup host city of Belo Horizonte on Thursday, killing at least one person and injuring 10 more, an emergency official said. Television images showed part of a passenger bus crushed under the overpass and news website G1 said another two trucks and a vehicle were also smashed. The accident site is around 3 km from the Mineirao Stadium, where a World Cup semifinal match will be held next Tuesday. The stadium has already hosted five games. A fire department official told GloboNews that at least one person was killed and 10 injured. A spokeswoman for the Belo Horizonte fire department told Reuters there were reports of several injuries, although she would not confirm the death. The overpass was one of the many infrastructure projects aimed at improving the city's ailing public transport network. The bridge was to be used as for passenger buses in a system known as BRT/Move, considered a legacy project from the World Cup. Heavy government spending on the World Cup and long delays in finishing promised infrastructure projects have spurred violent street protests in Brazil over the past year, although they have died down in recent weeks.

Joachim Loew insists the best is yet to come from his mis-firing Germany on the eve of Friday's World Cup quarterfinal against France. Loew's Germans take on the French at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium, but have failed to impress since thumping Portugal 4-0 in their opening match. Germany finished as group winners after grinding out a 2-2 draw with Ghana and a 1-0 win over the USA, but laboured to a 2-1 extra-time win over Algeria on Monday in the last 16 after struggling to finish their chances. Loew is bidding to steer his side to the semifinals of a major tournament for the fourth consecutive time in his eight-year reign. Germany have so far failed to recapture their dazzling form of 2010 when they finished third in South Africa, claiming the scalps of England and Argentina en route. But Loew says the best is yet to come as they bid to beat France and claim a place in Tuesday's semifinal against either Brazil or Colombia. "We haven't shown a consistent level of performance so far," said the 54-year-old Loew. "Teams like Ghana and USA had nothing to lose and everything to win, this game is different. "We have not yet delivered our best possible performances. "We had a very bad first half against Algeria, but were better in the second. "The team showed they can fight, Algeria fought hard, but we fought harder. "We brought them to their knees in the second half and we really had a strong will to win. "Some people have said 'who are Algeria?' but that shows they have little footballing knowledge. "This isn't an easy-to-figure out computer game and your own team isn't always easy to programme, but you have to find the right combinations. "You either win and stay or lose and go home."

Adokiye Kyrian Dares Boko Haram Again Singer Adokiye Kyrian has reiterated her call for Boko Haram Members to disvirgin her and release the Chibok girls.

It seems the singer Adokiye Kyrian, was really serious when she threw a challenge to members of the Islamist insurgents, Boko Haram, to sleep with her and let go of the over 200 female students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, that they abducted more than three months ago. In the challenge, Adokiye, who is Imo State Youth Ambassador, had said she did not mind losing her virginity to them and sleeping with more than 10 of them every night if they would release the girls. But as it seems the sect members have refused to take up the challenge, Adokiye has called out to them again, urging them to come take her. In an interview with Bella Naija, Adokiye dispelled what people termed as publicity stunts, stating that she meant every word she said. She also insisted that she is still a virgin, contrary to the disbelief of Nigerians. I made an open offer to some group of people. The question is why they haven’t accepted my request? They should gather up the girls, prepare them for release and then, I am sure they will find out if I’m still a virgin. Virginity has its own spiritual benefit. A lot of girls that are virgins think virginity is not worth keeping probably because they are being mocked and called names, a lot of people say virginity is lack of opportunity. So I am using this great opportunity to let the world know that if you are a girl and a virgin, oh you have a precious gift. I am not promoting rape or pleading to be molested as what some people are making the situation seem like a joke, but whatever those kids are going through, because we cannot see them, I would say should be thrown to me instead and allow them be freed. Whatever it is they are going through, for them to be released, should be thrown to me. And If they have turned the young girls to their sex slaves, they should consider releasing them and turn me to one. Boko Haram members should take pity on the girls and go for Adokiye fast.

Coordinator Of Chibok Girls Abduction Nabbed

The Nigerian Military has arrested the major coordinator of the Chibok girls abduction. An indigene of Chibok town, in Borno State, who coordinated the abduction of more than 200 female students of the Government Secondary school, Chibok, on the 14th of April, 2014, has been arrested by the Special Forces of the Nigerian Military. The man whose name was given as Babuji Ya'ari, was also a member of the youth vigilance group in the town, called Civilian JTF, as well a carrying out his business of selling tricycles.

But according to the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, Babuji was only hiding within the vigilance group to carry out his Boko Haram activities without any suspicion. Gen. Olukolade said that Babuji was a top intelligence officer of the dreaded insurgents who has led several attacks where many souls have been lost. In a statement released to newsmen, Gen. Olukolade said: A terrorists’ intelligence cell headed by a businessman who participated actively in the abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok has been busted by troops. The man, Babuji Ya’ari, who is also a member of the Youth Vigilante Group, popularly known as Civilian JTF, which he uses as cover while remaining an active terrorist, also spearheaded the murder of the Emir of Gwoza. His main role in the group is to spy and gather information for the terrorist group. Babuji has been coordinating several deadly attacks in Maiduguri since 2011, including the daring attacks on Customs and military locations as well as the planting of IEDs in several locations in the town. Olukolade said that the businessman gave the information that led to the arrest of the female members of the cell, including one Hafsat Bako, who was said to have escaped to Gombe State to avoid being arrested but was tracked down by security agents. The Defence Spokesman said that the female Boko Haram member confessed to the coordination of payment for insurgents on the payroll of Boko Haram. According to him, Bako confessed that a minimum of N10,000 was paid to each of the operatives, depending on the weight of the task assigned to them. Olukolade also said that the Special Forces were holding another female member of the sect, Haj Kaka, said to be an armourer and a spy for the group.

On How the Abducted Girls are Faring: Actually the information I’m getting, some of them are very disturbing. Although I don’t want to mention but they are just raping the girls on camera and even showing them on video, releasing it to the public. Somebody told me that they were shown being raped, and in turn, it is the girl who was raped that came out kneeling down and begging the man to be patient. Do you know the reason why? They said when they rape them they shoot them. Therefore the girl after being raped, she curled down to the man, kneeling down and begging him to please be patient. So disturbing. And although I didn’t see the video, the person narrated to me, he said he had the video, and he was narrating to me, and look at the situation. And then the other scenario is that the Boko Haram are now out of funds, they are not getting enough food. So they are going from one village to another, taking the little the villagers had, and going away. In fact most of the villages are almost moved out of their villages and moved to cities or gone into the neighbouring countries. So more or less they don’t have any chance of getting food. So I don’t know what they’re going to do, if food is not available are they going to sacrifice to give it to the girls. And then, the other information I have, because you know the kidnap is a continuous process which they have been doing before the 200 and after the 200. So in their position, there are up to 500 or over 500 women who are being taken from the streets, on the main roads where they are traveling, or they go to the villages and collect them; all kinds of abductions.
